PAINFUL DEMISE OF FRANCIS CHINEDU MMADUBUOBI
The Management of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka has received with great shock the painful and sudden demise of one of our students, Francis Chinedu Mmadubuobi, a 400 level student of the Department of Applied Microbiology and Brewing. The deceased slumped while playing basketball with friends on Saturday July 21, 2018.
The deceased was quickly rushed to the University medical Centre but had no pulse upon examination. This means that he had died before being brought to the University Medical Centre. He was thereafter taken to Teaching Hospital Amaku for further attempt at salvaging an already bad situation. He was without pulse and confirmed dead.
The Management is deeply saddened at the unfortunate incident and appeals for calm among the students.
We pray for the repose of the soul of Chinedu Mmadubuobi and for God to grant the family and friends the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
May his gentle soul find solace in the bossom of our Lord, Amen

Meanwhile the school’s Student union government president ikenna Igwebuike ,who surprisenly kept mute all this while, finally released an official statement on the troubling situation at hand and ofcourse it didn’t go well with students who quickly expressed their disappointment.
See what he wrote and reactions below
It’s shocking and sad having heard about the sudden death of our own. A UNIZIK FINAL YEAR STUDENT AND ALSO MY COURSE MATE..
There is no word to express how sorry I am to hear it. He was an epitome of a refined gentle man.
I know this is a big loss but we may be comforted by the knowledge that he made impact in people’s life including mine.
Students said his pulse was still beating when he was rushed to the school medical center while the school physicians said he had no pulse when he was rushed to the clinic but I know for certain that we never lose the people we love, even to death. They continue to participate in every act, thought and decision we make. Their love leaves an indelible imprint in our memories. We find comfort in knowing that our lives have been enriched by having shared their love.
We would miss you FRANCIS CHINEDU MMADUBUOBI .
Rest in perfect PEACE.
