Premier League Preview and Predictions (Game-Week 36)

Liverpool vs. Stoke City
Date: 28/4/18
Time: 12:30pm
Venue: Anfield
Stoke City’s Premier League status could all but end with a loss away at Liverpool in Saturday’s early kickoff. The Potters are 19th on the table with 26 points and based on current form and permutations stand no chance against the Reds.
Liverpool will need to keep players fresh ahead of their midweek trip to Rome for the UEFA Champions League return leg, but are well aware a routine win temporarily takes them level on points with Manchester United and six points ahead of Tottenham Hotspur, albeit they will still remain in third-place.
Prediction: 3-1
Burnley vs. Brighton and Hove
Date: 28/4/18
Time: 3:00pm
Venue: Turf Moor
Burnley look poised to get back to winning ways after two successive winless games when they host Brighton and Hove. Sean Dyche’s men are seventh on the log and a win takes them to within a point of Arsenal as their prospects of qualifying for Europe continues to look bright, while Brighton are still in the clear of relegation regardless of extending their poor away form.
Prediction: 2-1
Crystal Palace vs. Leicester City
Date: 28/4/18
Time: 3:00pm
Venue: Selhurst Park
Crystal Palace in 14th-place and on 35 points will appear to have just a little more work to secure safety this season. The Eagles are home to Leicester City in a potentially testing game for both sides.
The Foxes are winless in their last three games, but given their recent penchant for picking up away points, we predict a Leicester City win, an outcome which further makes life difficult for Roy Hodgson’s task in the final home stretch.
Prediction: 2-3
Huddersfield Town vs. Everton
Date: 28/4/18
Time: 3:00pm
Venue: John Smith’s Stadium
Can Everton make life more difficult for relegation-threatened Huddersfield Town or will it be the other way round?
Huddersfield are finding it increasingly difficult to consistently gather wins, hence we might fail to see them build on last week’s home win, but secure a point against an experienced Everton team as they slowly but steadily make their way to safety.
Prediction: 1-1
Newcastle United vs. West Brom
Date: 28/4/18
Time: 3:00pm
Venue: Saint James Park
Newcastle United are favoured to get back to winning ways as they host bottom club West Brom. The Baggies have experienced a massive resurgence in form since the interim appointment of club legend Darren Moore as coach, picking up five points from three games.
However, the damage appears to have been done before Moore’s arrival with relegation looking inevitable for West Brom. We predict Rafael Benitez and team should end the Baggies’ honeymoon as they inflict a first defeat in four games, all but confirming their relegation to the Championship after eight straight topflight seasons.
Prediction: 2-0
Southampton vs. Bournemouth
Date: 28/4/18
Time: 3:00pm
Venue: Saint Mary’s Stadium
The South Coast derby couldn’t have come at worse period for both Southampton and Bournemouth. The two teams are currently experiencing a terrible run of form, with Southampton in the bottom three, four points from safety, while Bournemouth have failed to score in successive league games, shipping in five goals in that time.
Derbies are never the easiest to play, but we expect Mark Hughes’ men to capitalise on home advantage, a late rally to secure Premier League survival.
Prediction: 2-1
Swansea City vs. Chelsea
Date: 28/4/18
Time: 5:30pm
Venue: Liberty Stadium
Swansea City’s relegation woes could get even worse with a time tie against a resurgent Chelsea. The Blues appear to have picked up form just in time, earning two successive away victories and could look to make it three in South Wales.
A struggling Swansea attack could further get blunt with the expected omission of Tammy Abraham, as he is ineligible to face his parent club. It should be a good day in the office for Chelsea who can temporarily cut the point gap to two against Tottenham or kiss the UEFA Champions League ticket goodbye.

Prediction: 1-3

West Ham vs. Manchester City
Date: 29/4/18
Time: 2:15pm
Venue: London Stadium
Champions Manchester City could inflict further misery on a struggling West Ham United team as they come visiting at the London Stadium. The Citizens are in the hunt for a record 100 Premier League goals and points, and are tipped to achieve the former in London on Sunday, particularly with the absence of Joe Hart in goal for West Ham (ineligible to face parent club).

Prediction: 1-4
Manchester United vs. Arsenal
Date: 29/4/18
Time: 4:30pm
Venue: Old Trafford
Foes Jose Mourinho and Arsene Wenger meet in a last-ever Premier League game as the two lead out their sides at Old Trafford. Manchester United won the reverse fixture and the big question remains if they can do a double against their rivals.
Considering there isn’t much at stake but pride, with both teams having secured European football for next season, we expect it to be a low-key game, though Thursday’s physically testing UEFA Europa League game could work against the Gunners.
Prediction: 1-0
Tottenham Hotspur vs. Watford
Date: 30/4/18
Time: 8:00pm
Venue: Wembley Stadium
Tottenham Hotspur should get back to winning ways as they host Watford at Wembley Stadium on Monday night. Spurs have surprisingly failed to win their last two league games, three when you add the weekend FA Cup defeat, probably their worst run in a long while.
Watford on their part apparently have forgotten the taste of victory and shouldn’t expect to start any revival against an opponent fighting to seal their UEFA Champions League spot.
Prediction: 2-0
