Uzodimma lamented that it was regrettable and unfortunate that leaders in whom the people reposed their confidence ended up betraying the masses, noting that it was only in this part of the world that such leaders believe they could do something and get away with it.
He appreciated the Eze Duruiheoma -led committee for doing justice to the assignment and promised to implement the recommendations.
In the report , Barrister Eze Duruiheoma (SAN), revealed that during the period of May 2011 to 2019, a whopping sum of N149bn was unaccounted for by the Okorocha administration, and another sum of N73bn of local government funds was diverted to spurious schemes devised to siphon the money by that administration.
Duruiheoma pointed out some of the schemes included but not limited to ‘operation zero potholes’ and ‘ My people my people project’ among others.
Duruiheoma decried the manner in which local government assets and properties were treated as personal property by the past local council administration, and noted that the uncooperative attitude exhibited by appointees of former Governor Okorocha towards the committee was a proof they had a lot to hide.
The senior advocate of Nigeria, said the report which was produced in two volumes was done in such a manner as to enable Uzodimma effectively behead the hydra headed monster ravaging the local government administration in the state.
